Michael Henry Lee

Michael Henry Lee

longest day of the year
a snail’s shadow
fills the afternoon
fuchsia dawn
through the smoke
a raspberry star
rigors of dawn
again in the net
reap and sew
winter morning
light as a feather
in the falling snow
windows open now
my cat laying on the sill
in the hazy moon
parent teacher day
the class turtle
fends for himself
another morning
pink and blue strokes of genius
on a broad pallete
ground fog
three crows steal
a scene from Macbeth
waiting for my cat
his conspicuous absence
proves the most difficult
shortest day of the year
the peculiar voice
of each appliance
